Why isn’t my widget updating automatically?

You've created your widget. It's embedded to your website. But somehow, when you add new testimonials or modify the widget in your Senja dashboard, the widget is not updated on your website. What is happening?

Check if you're using a caching system/plugin

If your site is built with WordPress, more often than not you’ll be using a cacheing plugin like Litespeed or WPRocket.

These plugins prevent Senja from updating your widget automatically.

You’ll need to clear your cache using the instructions provided by your caching plugin.

To fix this ongoing, simply follow these steps:

Check if new testimonials are approved

In this case, you have new testimonials collected from import or form, but they are not automatically added to your widget or Wall of Love.

Follow these steps to check what is going on:

• Go to your Proof page: https://app.senja.io/

• Check the status of the new testimonials

• If they're Unapproved, approve the testimonials following this guide: What do approved and unapproved mean?

• Remember, widget and Wall of Love can only use approved testimonials

Check if your widget’s filters are configured correctly

In this case, you have new testimonials collected from import or form, but they are not automatically added to your widget or Wall of Love.

Follow these steps to check what is going on:

• Open your widget in the Studio page: https://app.senja.io/studio

• Click on Select Testimonials on the left sidebar

  

• Check if you have any Filters on

  

• If the new testimonials don't fit the filter requirement, they will not show in the widget

• What you can do:

  • Remove the filter so can see all the testimonials you can choose from

  • Go to the Proof page and modify the testimonials to fit the filter requirement (add tag, add avatar, etc.)
