How can we help? 👋

Can I make testimonials anonymous?

How to anonymise your testimonials.

At the moment, there’s no native setting within Senja that will make testimonials anonymous. However, there’s a workaround you can use to anonymise your testimonials and we’ll show you how!

In the meantime, if you would like us to add the ability to make testimonials anonymous without having to use the workaround, please suggest it here.

How to manually make testimonials anonymous

1. Click on Testimonials

2. Find the testimonial you'd like to anonymise and click to open it

3. Click Edit testimonial

4. Delete the original name and type "Anonymous" or anything you'd like. The name will show up in your shareable proof so feel free to tweak this to your liking so that it's as anonymous as you'd like!

5. Optional: You can delete the person's avatar as well although this is not necessary because you can hide avatars in your widget

6. Click on Save

7. Close out of the testimonial by clicking on the "x" icon in the top right-hand corner

8. Now it's time to create your social proof. To do that, click on Studio

9. You can edit an existing widget or create a new one by clicking on the widget of your choice

10. In this example, we're starting from scratch using the Social Star widget

11. Give your widget a name and select where you'd like to embed the widget

12. Click on Create widget

13. Click on Select Testimonials

14. Click on Change Source to curate which testimonials should go in your widget

15. Click on Curate testimonials…

16. Click on Continue

17. In this example, we're choosing the testimonial that we just anonymised

18. Click on Save Selection

19. As you can see, the name in the widget is showing up as "Anonymous"

20. Click on Design to remove the avatar from the testimonial. Again, the earlier step where you deleted the avatar is totally optional. You can keep their avatar and just hide it from the widget itself as you're about to see.

21. Toggle off Show Customer Photos to ensure customer avatars are hidden

22. Click on Save changes

23. Click on Share

24. Copy the widget code to share in your desired platform and you're all set!
