How to set up questions and pages in Senja form

The Form tab is where you build what your customers see: the welcome page, your questions, the details you collect about them, and the thank you page. This article covers everything you can do there.

Open the Form tab

• Go to your Forms page: https://app.senja.io/forms

• Click the ⚙️ icon on your form and choose Edit

• Click the Form tab

• Scroll through the slides, or click one to edit it in the right sidebar

• Click Save changes when you’re done

Edit the text on any slide

Every slide comes with example copy you can change:

• Page title: the question or heading

• Subtitle: the line under the title

• Placeholder: example text inside the answer box

• Call to action: the text on the button

You can format text with bold, italics, bullets, and numbered lists using the built-in editor.

Add questions

• Scroll to Question #1 and click Add a question

• Pick from the directory of 50+ proven testimonial questions (you can search by business type), or write your own

• Choose a question type: text, video, or rating

• Drag questions to reorder them

Collect video only, text only, or both

Each question has its own setting in the right sidebar:

• Video: customers can only record or upload a video

• Text: customers can only write

• Video and text: customers pick one format for that question

Customers can’t submit both a video and text for the same question. If you want both, you have three options:

• Collect video only and use the transcript, since Senja transcribes every video

• Add two questions, one set to video and one to text

• Create a separate form for each format

Ask for multiple videos

Add more than one question and set each to Video. You can also mix video and text questions in the same form.

On your Proof page, all of a customer’s answers appear together in one entry.

Your primary question

The first question in a new form is your primary question. Senja sets this automatically and it stays that way:

• You can edit its text, but you can’t delete it

• It keeps the primary label even if you drag other questions above it

• You can’t move the label to another question

• You can spot it in the Form tab because it’s the only question without a 🗑️ icon

By default, widgets and Walls of Love show answers to the primary question. To show answers to your other questions, see How to choose testimonials from multipart responses for the widget.

Delete or hide questions

• Scroll to the question you want to remove

• Click the 🗑️ icon in the top right corner of the slide

• Click Delete to confirm

Deleting a question doesn’t delete the answers you already collected. They stay on your Proof page, marked as belonging to a deleted question.

You can hide or delete any question or page except the primary question, About you page, and Thank you & word of mouth page.

Required and optional answers

Customers have to answer every question you show. There’s no option to make a question optional yet. If you’d like this, add it to our feedback board so others can upvote it.

The About you page is the only place you can choose what’s required. Your name is always required. You can turn other fields on or off, and click the down arrow next to a field to make it required or optional.

Add a welcome video

A short video of you explaining why their testimonial matters makes the request feel personal, and more people finish the form.

• Scroll to the Welcome page slide

• Click Record a welcome video

• Turn off Fit video to screen if you want to show the video at its original size

• Click Save changes

You can add a video to the Thank you & word of mouth page the same way.

The other pages in your form

• About you and About company: collect your customer’s details, add custom fields, or pass data in with hidden fields. See How do I collect custom information from my customers?

Change how your form looks
