How to pre-fill form fields and hidden fields
Pre-fill your collection form by adding your customer's details to the end of the form link. When they open it, their name, email and website are already filled in, and any hidden fields you pass along are saved with their testimonial.
This is applicable for all Senja plans: Free, Starter, and Pro.
Fields you can pre-fill
Name
Email
URL (your customer's website)
Hidden fields
You can't pre-fill the star rating.
Pre-fill name, email and URL
Use this when you send the form to a customer you already know, so they can skip straight to their testimonial.
Go to your Forms page and click the link under your form's name to copy it
Add the fields to the end of the link, starting with
?and joining each field with&:?name=Oliver+Meakings&[email protected]&url=https://www.first100users.comSwap in your customer's details, using
+instead of spaces in their nameSend the link to your customer
Here's a full form link with all three fields filled in:

Hidden fields save extra details your customer never sees, like the event they attended or their ID in your email tool. One form can collect testimonials for lots of events, and each testimonial keeps its own values. Before you start, add a hidden field to your form and note its field ID.
Add the field ID to the end of your form link, followed by
=and the value:?event-name=Spring+WorkshopTo pass more than one hidden field, join them with
&:?event-name=Spring+Workshop&event-id=0425To pre-fill your customer's details too, add them to the same link:
?name=Oliver+Meakings&event-name=Spring+Workshop
The link has to use the field ID exactly.
Underscores in a field name become hyphens, so a field named ck_subscriber_id has the ID ck-subscriber-id. A link with ?ck_subscriber_id=12345 leaves the field empty, so use ?ck-subscriber-id=12345 instead.
If your email tool adds the value with underscores and you can't change that, rewrite the parameter to the hyphen version before the link opens your form.
Find your hidden field values
Hidden field values are saved on every testimonial, and you'll find them in your CSV export.
Go to your Proof page
Click Export all to CSV (more on exporting in How do I download my testimonials?)
Open the file and scroll to the last columns, where each hidden field has its own column
The column names can look a little different from your field IDs, for example event__name or kit__subscriber__i_d. You can filter the CSV by these columns to pull out every testimonial from one event.
You can't filter or search by hidden field values on the Proof page yet, and we can't tag testimonials automatically based on them.
Tag testimonials by hidden field value
Want a tag for each event without doing it by hand? You can build it with our webhook and API:
The
testimonial_createdevent in our Webhook Integration includes your hidden field valuesOur REST API can then add a tag to that testimonial with
